Sealing Countertops

When installing countertops such as Quartz, Granite, and Engineered Countertops, the manufacturer does not apply a sealer to them. This is because surface sealers are specific to homeowners’ preferences, their daily needs, and dependent on the surface itself.

Covington Homes recommends that if you wish you seal your countertops, go to your local hardware store and pick a sealer that is based on your specific needs. Once you have chosen a sealer it is best to reapply that sealer yearly.

Why chose a sealer? This will prevent substances that spill on the surface from soaking in and it helps with overall longevity of the surface.

NOTE: It is highly recommended to ALWAYS and IMMEDIATLY wipe up anything that is spilled on your countertop surface (even if it is sealed).
